Un film dans lequel il dirige Tilda Swinton et Julianne Moore autour d&rsquo;un th\u00e8me de soci\u00e9t\u00e9 br\u00fblant et on ne peut plus dans l&rsquo;actualit\u00e9 : le droit \u00e0 mourir dans la dignit\u00e9. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>R\u00e9compens\u00e9 du<strong> Lion d&rsquo;Or<\/strong> lors de la <strong>Mostra de Venise <\/strong>2024, <em><strong>La Chambre d&rsquo;\u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9<\/strong><\/em> est l&rsquo;adaptation sur grand \u00e9cran du roman de l&rsquo;Am\u00e9ricain Sigrid Nunez,<em> Quel est donc ton tourment<\/em> ?, publi\u00e9 en 2020. Il s&rsquo;agit du premier long-m\u00e9trage de <strong>Pedro Almod\u00f3var<\/strong> tourn\u00e9 en langue anglaise (et non pas en espagnol). Auparavant, il avait uniquement tourn\u00e9 un court-m\u00e9trage en anglais,<em> <a href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210217150119\/https:\/www.sortiraparis.com\/loisirs\/cinema\/articles\/238688-la-voix-humaine-de-pedro-almodovar-avec-tilda-swinton-en-vod-critique-et-bande-a\">La Voix Humaine<\/a><\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210217150119\/https:\/www.sortiraparis.com\/loisirs\/cinema\/articles\/238688-la-voix-humaine-de-pedro-almodovar-avec-tilda-swinton-en-vod-critique-et-bande-a\"> <\/a>(adaptation d&rsquo;une pi\u00e8ce de Cocteau), de 30 minutes, sorti en VOD en 2021, avec d\u00e9j\u00e0 <strong>Tilda Swinton<\/strong> au g\u00e9n\u00e9rique. Dans <em><strong>La Chambre d&rsquo;\u00e0 c\u00f4te<\/strong><\/em>, la com\u00e9dienne britannique donne, pour la premi\u00e8re fois de sa carri\u00e8re, la r\u00e9plique \u00e0 l&rsquo;Am\u00e9ricaine <strong>Julianne Moore<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"LA CHAMBRE D&#039;\u00c0 C\u00d4T\u00c9 - Bande-annonce OVf [Suisse]\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5mxcvbpNqp4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans <em><strong>La Chambre d&rsquo;\u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9<\/strong><\/em>, <strong>Julianne Moore<\/strong> incarne une romanci\u00e8re &#8211; dont le dernier ouvrage \u00e9voque sa peur de la mort &#8211; sollicit\u00e9e par une amie, ancienne reporter de guerre, jou\u00e9e par <strong>Tilda Swinton<\/strong>, condamn\u00e9e par un cancer, pour \u00eatre pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s lorsqu&rsquo;elle aura d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de mourir.<br>Dans un New-York, film\u00e9 par <strong>Almod\u00f3var<\/strong> d&rsquo;une fa\u00e7on qui rappelle celle de Woody Allen (<em>Minuit \u00e0 Paris<\/em>) ou encore celle de Julie Delpy (<em>2 days in New-York<\/em>), le r\u00e9alisateur met en sc\u00e8ne deux femmes assez peu maquill\u00e9es, si ce n&rsquo;est qu&rsquo;avec un rouge \u00e0 l\u00e8vres tr\u00e8s intense. <strong>Tilda Swinton <\/strong>est le plus souvent naturelle, sans fard, elle qui incarnait d\u00e9j\u00e0, dans<em> La Voix Humaine<\/em>, un personnage s&rsquo;interrogeant sur le sort des femmes de plus de 50 ans au cin\u00e9ma. \u00ab\u00a0<em><strong>C&rsquo;est un film d&rsquo;actrices<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u00bb affirme d&rsquo;ailleurs A<strong>lmod\u00f3var <\/strong>quand \u00e0 son choix de ne quasi filmer exclusivement ses deux com\u00e9diennes. <br>Face \u00e0 ces deux personnages entour\u00e9s par la mort, Damian, jou\u00e9 par <strong>John Turturro<\/strong>, bien qu&rsquo;on le voit peu, apporte n\u00e9anmoins une petite note de dr\u00f4lerie, \u00e0 ce <strong>film dramatique<\/strong>, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa vision excessivement pessimiste de l&rsquo;avenir de la plan\u00e8te.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comme \u00e0 son habitude,<strong> Pedro Almod\u00f3var<\/strong>, qui, a plusieurs reprises, a pos\u00e9 sa cam\u00e9ra sur le sol,  a gliss\u00e9, dans son<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/1jour1sortie.com\/index.php\/category\/cinema\/\">film<\/a><\/strong>, de nombreuses r\u00e9f\u00e9rences \u00e0 l&rsquo;art (les auteurs Ernest Hemingway et William Faulkner, le film <em>Les gens de Dublin<\/em>&#8230;). Quant \u00e0 la musique, souvent pr\u00e9sente en filigrane, elle donne des allures de thriller \u00e0 ce film qu&rsquo;<strong>Almod\u00f3var <\/strong>qualifie d&rsquo; \u00ab\u00a0<em><strong>Almod\u00f3varien<\/strong><\/em>\u00ab\u00a0. \u00ab\u00a0<em><strong>L&rsquo;art occupe une place importante dans ma vie, dans mes films et entoure mes personnages<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u00bb pr\u00e9cise-t-il.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec <em><strong>La Chambre d&rsquo;\u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9<\/strong><\/em>, <strong>Almod\u00f3var<\/strong> \u00e9voque la fin de vie, le droit \u00e0 mourir dans la dignit\u00e9 et le suicide assist\u00e9. A ce propos, il d\u00e9clare : \u00ab\u00a0<em><strong>C&rsquo;est une r\u00e9flexion qui m&rsquo;est propre sur la douleur, sur la mort<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u00bb avant de d\u00e9velopper : \u00ab\u00a0<em><strong>On n&rsquo;a pas \u00e9voqu\u00e9 l&rsquo;euthanasie ensemble avant le film mais le d\u00e9bat est ouvert et la r\u00e9ponse est \u00e9vidente \u00e0 nos yeux, \u00e0 tous les trois :<br>les \u00eatres humains doivent pouvoir \u00eatre ma\u00eetres de leur mort quand la vie ne leur r\u00e9serve plus que douleur.<\/strong><\/em>\u00ab\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>La Chambre d&rsquo;\u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9<\/em><\/strong> n&rsquo;est pas le seul <strong>film<\/strong> programm\u00e9 en salles en 2025 \u00e0 s&rsquo;interroger autour de la fin de vie.<em><strong> Le dernier souffle<\/strong><\/em>, le prochain long-m\u00e9trage de Costa-Gavras, qui arrive au <a href=\"https:\/\/1jour1sortie.com\/index.php\/category\/cinema\/\">cin\u00e9ma<\/a> le 12 f\u00e9vrier 2025, se d\u00e9roule principalement dans un service de soins palliatifs. <br>Quant \u00e0 Charles Templon, il a mis en sc\u00e8ne <em>Exit<\/em>, pour le moment jou\u00e9e \u00e0 Avignon en 2024 et au th\u00e9\u00e2tre 14 \u00e0 l&rsquo;automne dernier.
